Following the recent passing of Sir Run Run Shaw The Duke is dedicating February to that most legendary of film studios: Shaw Brothers. Join us on Monday 24th February as we pay tribute to the studio that helped launch the martial arts film as we know it with a night of Shaw related mayhem.
Our main feature for the evening is the incredible: Bastard Swordsman (1983). This over-the-top martial arts epic was released towards the end of the Shaw Brothers martial arts cycle and shows that the studio was still at the top of its game. A wild extravaganza of combat, sword fights, laser beams, double crosses, and an incredibly unexpected ending, all add up to an essential watch.
Of course we’ll also have all our other regular features: Trailer Trash, short films, quiz and more, all with a Shaw Brothers flavour.
So come and join us as we pay tribute to the one and only Shaw Brothers! FREE ENTRY as always!
